Team Coaching

working with teams to ensure organsiations thrive, by building collaboration of the highest levels

Team Coaching

"Helping teams to collaborate to the highest levels,

by facilitating the space between team members

and other teams to ensure

organisational and interdepartmental success."

5 Behaviours of a Cohesive Team

Patrick Lencioni's ground breaking model for effective teams,

forms the basis of our team coaching intervention.

We are accredited by Wiley to deliver the full suite of Lencioni interventions

and supplement those with our team coaching processes.

The 5 Behaviours are:

Trust

The foundation for team success is trust. It goes without saying a lack of trust undermines team effectiveness.

However, we are not focusing on predictive trust but the notion of vulnerability based trust.
Team members need the confidence to be vulnerable and admit uncertainty, mistakes or to say I don't know.

Safe in the knowledge their peers will work with them rather than shoot them down.

Conflict

There is a huge difference between destructive personal conflict and positive ideological conflict.

Teams need healthy conflict to make good decisions and reach an outcome all can support even if they don't agree with it.
Without this type of positive conflict, focused on ideas and debate, politics can be present, leading to fake agreements

Commitment

Without positive conflict where everyone has the chance to have input and be heard

you won't reach true commitment.

Teams need to achieve genuine buy in to decisions as it is the only way to ensure clarity.
Buy in is the achievement of honest emotional support, clarity is the removal of assumption and ambiguity.

Accountability

With true commitment the team will hold itself accountable for delivering upon its decisions and outputs.

This type of accountability is peer to peer accountability rather than leader lead accountability.
Only the very best teams create the culture where colleagues provide feedback and hold each other to account.

Results

Great teams focus on team results as opposed to individual personal objectives.

The desire to put the team first is greater than the natural temptation for self interest or preservation.

As the three musketeers said "All for one and one for all"

5 Behaviours Video

Wiley and Patrick Lencioni's official video of the 5 Behaviours,

providing more information about his concept for cohesive teams.

We can offer each team member and team their own personalised profile and report as part of our team coaching offer.
It represents a unique opportunity for a team to understand itself and its constituent parts.
When used as part of a comprehensive development intervention it provides rich data, insight and self discovery.

Our Approach

One to one

Assisting individuals to gain clarity and understanding of how they interact with internal and external customers, is a crucial part of the process. Working closely with individuals is a key part of team coaching.

Group coaching

Working with and highlighting group dynamics is the second stage of team coaching. The coach will work with the team in it's "live" group processes offering independent observation and feedback with the sole objective of helping the team grow, develop and increase its effectiveness

Facilitation

The final element of team coaching is that of facilitating meetings and interactions with other key stakeholders.

Facilitation assists in creating understanding and collaboration with other teams.

It can be the catalyst for the next level of

team performance.

Your team

Team coaching is one of the most exciting innovations in the coaching space and we are excited to be able to partner with Wiley to utilise the 5 Behaviours profiling tools and offer this model to our clients.

As one CEO put it "it is the space between the teams within our organisation that will determine our success or failure. Ensuring every one of my people understands the importance of collaboration is essential"
Each team coaching project is in depth and delivered over a longer period of time.

As a result it can drive real change, improvements in performance and significant increases in collaboration.

Don't take our word for it...
"I have recently completed a course of coaching sessions following a challenging period at work. Adrian's approach was that great mix of professional and personable. first helping me identify key areas that needed attention, we then worked through different strategies to prioritise and tackle each one. Offering great advice, exploring through questioning, and supportive throughout. I would certainly recommend Adrian for personal or group coaching"
